SILVER JUBILEE MASS: The 6pm Sunday Mass on the 6th August will be Fr. Kevin’s Silver Jubilee Mass.    
The following weekend, 12th & 13th August Fr. Kevin will celebrate all of the Parish Mass’s, as this will be his last    weekend as Parish Priest in the Parish.

Due to space restrictions, only vehicles carrying persons with special needs or displaying a Disabled Persons Disc will be permitted access to the cemetery grounds.  Please note that the gates will close to all traffic at 10:00 am sharp for traffic management purposes.   


We are a Local Training Initiative operating under the GRETB and are based in St. Joseph’s Community Centre, Shantalla.
We deliver training to people who are on the live register and want to up-skill. The overall aim of our project is to provide learners with skills and related knowledge to further develop their job seeking skills and to enable them to obtain employment or further education. The course is a full time course – 48 weeks, full time hours.  Payments are decided by the DSP based on the payment that a client is currently in receipt of.  Our project currently has 6 vacancies. We offer two Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) certified training programmes.
We are now recruiting for both levels i.e. QQI level 3 Employability Skills and QQI level 4 Office Skills.

Classes for older learners. Get connected and learn how to navigate the Internet. 

Are you a complete beginner or do you have basic skills you want to refresh or maybe you have a new device and need help?
Age Action runs classes for older learners (aged 55+) who have little or no experience with using the Internet and who are apprehensive of technology (laptops/iPads/iPhones/Tablets/Smartphones all welcome OR if you have no device we can provide one).        
Classes are run in three locations in or around  Galway city on different days/times.  For the most part learners are taught on a 1:1 basis (with an individual tutor).
Each course cycle runs for 5 weeks (2 hours per week) and there is no fee.
Classes will recommence in early September, after the summer break. details or to add your name to our waiting list, call Age Action on 091 527831.
NOTE: these classes are for absolute beginners or for people who wish to refresh/build on their basic skills. 
If you have already taken a course with Age Action since January 2017 you are not eligible to apply.


GALWAY/CLARE GROUP - 3 Day Pilgrimage  to Lough Derg on August Bank Holiday Weekend - Saturday 5th – Monday 7th August.

Bus leaves Arthurs Quay Limerick at 5.45am with pickup available in Ennis, Gort, Oranmore, Claregalway, Tuam, Knock and Sligo.

APPOINTMENT:  We will be welcoming the new Parish Priest, Fr. Tony Horgan M.S.C.  on the 15th August. 

With great respect, we thank Fr. Charles Sweeney M.S.C. for his ministry within the parish over the past two years.   Fr. Charles' help, assistance and advice, which was greatly appreciated will cease on the 14th August. 

Fr. Charles will continue to be the Resident Priest in charge of our Spirituality Centre in Croi Nua, Taylors Hill, Galway.
